RE: An email address change has affected your SEVP Portal Account Creation. You should use your new email address to create your account.
Previously, we sent you a link to create your SEVP Portal account, but your email address in SEVIS changed before you could create your account. Ignore the previous message which was sent to your old email address as the link in that email no longer works.
Congratulations on the approval of your Optional Practical Training (OPT). You are now ready to create your SEVP Portal account, the next step in the OPT process.
By law, you must report changes to:
* Your address or telephone number
* Employer information
The SEVP Portal is the tool you will use to report these changes. Use the following link to go to the Create SEVP Portal Account page.
IMPORTANT: This link is valid for 31 days beginning on the date of this email. If the link expires, contact your designated school official (DSO) for help. Your DSO can request a new link for you. To create your account, you will be asked to enter your SEVIS ID number and create a password. You can find your SEVIS ID in the top left corner of your Form I-20, below the words 'Department of Homeland Security.'
Refer to the sample Form I-20 (https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/I-20_Active.pdf)
Carefully review the password guidelines for the portal (https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/make-and-maintain-user-password).
For more information about student reporting requirements, and instructions on how to navigate the SEVP Portal, visit the SEVIS and SEVP Portal section on Study in the States:
