Start Your School Year with These Resources

Welcome back to school! However you support your school’s international students, we hope you’ve had a smooth transition into a new semester and are feeling prepared for the rest of the school year. I hope these new resources will be helpful as you and your students settle in. As you continue to work to help your students make the most of their experiences in the United States, this recent Study in the States blog post provides an easy overview of international student benefits. The international student life cycle infographic in the Study in the States Resource Library also got a refresh this summer. We hope these resources can be helpful for both your new and returning international students.

As we close out September, I also wanted to share some new resources for National Preparedness Month. Emergency planning is key for the safety of you and your student, and Ready.gov has a host of resources that can help you prepare for all types of emergencies. as well as the Study in the States Resource Library for a new infographic to help you prepare and stay safe.

Lastly, we know there’s been a spate of Special Student Relief notices published of late. Keep track of active notices on the What’s New page on ICE.gov/SEVP. And for your F-1 science, technology, engineering and mathematics students seeking a practical training authorization, our partners at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services have recently published resources to help them understand their practical training options.

We hope you have a wonderful semester. As always, you can visit Study in the States for help with any questions you may have. Thank you for your support.

Best,

Rachel Canty
