DSOs: Follow this Guidance for Reporting Procedural Changes for Summer Sessions

May 7, 2020

PLEASE NOTE: The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) ended its Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) guidance on May 11, 2023, consistent with the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. As a result, all related statements, guidance and FAQs previously released by SEVP also terminated on May 11, 2023, and this content may be outdated. Learn more

Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified schools that submitted procedural change plans for the spring session indicating alternative instruction procedures (including online-only classes) do not need to re-submit or re-affirm that they will be keeping the same alternative procedures during the summer session. Please note that if your school is making substantive changes, then you must re-submit procedural change plans. For assistance meeting your requirement to report procedural changes, download the COVID-19 School Reporting Template. This template is optional.

SEVP may require an update for the upcoming fall 2020 session but is not requiring one for this summer. However, SEVP-certified schools that have not yet filed procedural change plans and have active F or M students in programs this summer, will need to submit a procedural change plan, detailing any changes to existing procedures necessitated by COVID-19.

For more information, updates, and FAQs please refer to the Nonimmigrant Students and SEVP-Certified Schools section on the ICE Guidance on COVID-19 page.
