Avoid Phone Wait Times with the SEVP Response Center’s Callback Assist Feature

August 9, 2018

International students, designated school officials and other Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) stakeholders are encouraged to use the SEVP Response Center’s (SRC) new Callback Assist feature to avoid wait times on the phone.

The SRC’s Callback Assist allows you to choose a preferred date and time for a customer service representative to contact you. The feature is automatically activated if your wait time is expected to be two minutes or longer when you call the SRC.

You do not lose your place in line by accepting the Callback Assist feature. If your expected wait time is at least two minutes, the SRC phone system will ask if you would like to schedule a callback. Then, you provide your name, phone number, and preferred date and time Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET.

As a note, the SRC’s Callback Assist feature only accepts domestic phone numbers. Additionally, the SRC does not currently offer immediate callback as an option. You must choose a preferred date and time when using the feature.

The SRC launched the new feature on June 22, 2018, to help stakeholders spend less time waiting to speak to a customer service representative on the phone.
