DSOs and Emergency Preparedness on Campus

January 9, 2018

In the latest edition of SEVP Spotlight, Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) Director Rachel Canty discusses the importance of designated school officials (DSOs) working with campus law enforcement to enhance emergency preparedness efforts at their schools.

As experts on the international student process and trusted advisers to these students, DSOs can offer crucial insight to help campuses better plan for and consider the needs of this unique population during situations that may affect safety and impact school operations. By working together, DSOs and campus law enforcement can keep more people safe during emergencies and other unforeseen events.
