Mapping the Nation Tool Can Help in International Education Planning

December 30, 2013

To celebrate International Education Week 2013, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) released their Mapping the Nation tool to show how the United States connects to the rest of the world. According to ED, the tool uses an interactive map, infographics and a tool kit to display “nearly one million data points related to economics, demographics and education.” These data points allow users to “see how prepared our states and local communities are to operate effectively in an increasingly interconnected world.”

Designated school officials can use this information in F and M student planning by making comparisons among their own locations, schools around their state, and states around the United States. Students can select the state where their prospective schools are located to find out about other F and M students currently studying there.

For additional resources, check out other ED tools like the College Navigator or the College Scorecard.
