I-901 SEVIS Fee Payment
After the development of a user-friendly FMJfee.com that allows international students to pay their I-901 SEVIS Fee online, stakeholders shared feedback on the length of the processing time to complete the SEVIS I-901 Form, “Remittance for Certain F, J and M Visa Nonimmigrants.”
Following the development of online payment forms, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) made a series of updates to FMJfee.com to reduce the amount of time it takes for users to complete the required payment. These updates included changes to make the site more user friendly, improve mobile access, remove unnecessary fields from the SEVIS I-901 Form, and allow online fee transfers. In addition, SEVP upgraded the payment functionality to allow for the transfer of bulk filer payments. Thanks to these efforts, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported a reduction in the form completion time to an average of five minutes.
SEVP will continue to utilize stakeholder feedback to create future changes based on new technology and security. The program also encourages students to reference the I-901 SEVIS Fee Payment Video for a step-by-step guide to completing the required payment process. This video includes details on the information needed to pay the fee and next steps following payment on FMJfee.com. Students can also reference the I-901 SEVIS Fee Frequently Asked Questions on ICE.gov/SEVP for a detailed list of questions and answers associated with the I-901 SEVIS Fee.
