The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) will host the Ask the Experts Webinar: Form I-983 on Oct. 19, 2016, from 2 to 3 p.m. EDT and invites science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) optional practical training (OPT) participants to register for the event.

The webinar will cover:

•  The requirements of the Form I-983, “Training Plan for STEM OPT Students.”
•  Available resources about the Form I-983 on the STEM OPT Hub of Study in the States.
• Stakeholder questions about the form.

The question and answer segment of the webinar will answer questions from webinar participants using the Adobe Connect chat feature and pre-submitted questions that SEVP received about the Form I-983 from STEM OPT students, schools and employers.

As a reminder, STEM OPT students must work with their training managers to complete the Form I-983 and submit the form to the student’s designated school official. Students must complete this step before applying for the STEM OPT extension with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
