SEVP Focuses on the K-12 Community

September 14, 2016

This summer, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) focused on reaching designated school officials (DSOs) at kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) schools

In June 2016, SEVP representatives hosted an SEVP Ask the Experts Webinar: K-12 Spotlight. During the webinar, SEVP representatives provided important reminders and best practices for DSOs at K-12 schools. They also discussed:

  • How SEVP interacts with the K-12 academic community.
  • Unique policies for public high schools versus private schools and summer English as a Second Language programs.
  • Record keeping and student reporting requirements.

If you missed the Ask the Experts: K-12 Spotlight webinar, you can access the recording here.

Due to the popularity and high attendance of the Ask the Experts webinar, SEVP hosted a follow-up live question and answer session with K-12 stakeholders on Aug. 23, 2016.

Although a recording for this webinar will not be available, stakeholders can access a copy of the webinar presentation on Study in the States. Additionally, SEVP will post a question and answer guide based on this session to Study in the States by the end of September.

Help us reach more members of the K-12 academic community by sharing Study in the States resources with your networks on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #StudyintheStates.
