
Join SEVP at the 2016 EducationUSA Forum
From August 2 through August 4, EducationUSA will host the 2016 EducationUSA Forum in Washington, D.C. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) will lead a session on August 3 at 8:15 a.m. EDT.
SEVP presenters will share the latest updates and key program initiatives, as well as tips and reminders for U.S. higher education representatives, including for designated school officials (DSOs). Topics that SEVP will cover include:
- Final policy guidance on conditional admission and on the Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,” and the English proficiency field.
- The 24-month science, technology, engineering and mathematics optional practical training extension.
- The principal designated school official and DSO update process for the Form I-17, “Petition for Approval of School for Attendance by Nonimmigrant Student.”
- Noncompliance terminations for the Form I-515A, “Notice to Student or Exchange Visitor.”
During the session, SEVP will also provide information about upcoming enhancements to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System.
The EducationUSA Forum, an annual event for U.S. higher education professionals at accredited colleges and universities, provides participants with practical international student recruitment and retention strategies. EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 400 international student advising centers in 177 countries.
