Apply to the EducationUSA Academy and Prepare for College in the United States

April 27, 2016

Registration for the EducationUSA Academy is now open to international high school students, ages 15-17, who want to learn about the U.S. higher education system, improve their English language skills and get a chance to experience campus life.

In 2016, the EducationUSA Academy will be hosted by 10 diverse college and university campuses across the United States. The program length ranges from three to four weeks and will take place during the months of June, July, or August. Academy students will receive English-language classes, college preparatory courses, and campus tours and participate in cultural/recreational activities.

While the EducationUSA Academy eligibility requirements vary slightly by institution, in most cases an applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a non-native English speaker, a non-U.S. citizen and reside outside of the United States.
  • Be a student who is currently enrolled in or recently graduated from high school.
  • Be between the ages of 15 to 17 at the time of the program.
  • Have at least an intermediate level of English or approximately three years of middle to high school English language study.
  • Be mature and self-disciplined with a commitment to active participation in the program’s activities.
  • Have sufficient funds to cover program fees, including international airfare and visa fees.
