DSOs: Here’s What’s New on the SEVIS Help Hub
Study in the States continues to update the SEVIS Help Hub with new resources to assist designated school officials (DSOs) with managing school information and records in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
We recently updated the SEVIS Help Hub to include the:
- SEVIS Release 6.24 Planning Guide: This guide addresses the functionality deployed during the Feb. 12 SEVIS release, specifically adding optional practical training (OPT) dates, reporting students who participate in OPT while studying science, technology, engineering or mathematics and recommending Cap-Gap extensions.
- F-1 and M-1 Registration User Guide: This guide contains information about SEVIS registration, including terminology, deadlines, processes for recording a student’s attendance and alternative actions to take on student records.
- Correction Requests Overview: This overview explains how to correct commonly made mistakes on student records within SEVIS. The overview also explains how to make changes to program dates, student status or termination reason, and how to correct primary designated school official (PDSO) records.
- Terminate a Student/Dependent User Guide: This guide explains how to terminate a student record, how to reverse a student termination and how SEVIS termination affects a student.
As a DSO, you are responsible for assuring that all F and M student records within your school are maintained in SEVIS. The SEVIS Help Hub is a central location for accessing information regarding student and school records and SEVIS release updates when you are in need of guidance.
Share these SEVIS Help Hub updates with your fellow DSOs on social media using the hashtag #StudyintheStates.
