Follow Friday: Learn about the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency
Did you know that the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency?
ICE enforces border control, customs, trade and immigration to promote the safety and security of the United States. ICE established a social media presence to help keep the public informed about the important national security initiatives it oversees.
As SEVP’s parent agency, ICE will be the first to release important program news for SEVP stakeholders. Following the agency on Facebook and Twitter will ensure you quickly receive the information that is relevant to you, like the SEVIS by the Numbers report.
SEVIS by the Numbers is a quarterly report on international student trends happening in the United States based on data extracted from the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System. After ICE releases the report, news organizations use the information to write articles about the growing number of international students studying in the United States.
Following both ICE and Study in the States on social media will keep you informed about these interesting trends and other important program news that may affect your nonimmigrant status or SEVP-certification.
