Reminder to School Officials: SEVIS Release Deploys Tomorrow

December 3, 2015

Update: SEVIS Release 6.23 will be live at 8 a.m. ET, Dec. 7. Refer to the Release Planning Guide for details.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Release 6.23 will deploy on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015. This deployment will:

  • Allow designated school officials (DSOs) to enter SEVIS information about multiple employers for a student participating in optional practical training.
  • Improve how details are presented on the events history page of a student’s SEVIS record.

With the improved events history page, DSOs will now clearly see what changes are made to a student’s SEVIS record, including what was listed both before and after an update.

For SEVIS users who use batch processing, this release does have batch implications. The original release date for this deployment was moved from Nov. 20, 2015 to Dec. 4, 2015 in an effort to provide batch developers and users more time to test the changes required by SEVIS Release 6.23.

Learn more about this release and the system enhancements that SEVP will deploy on Dec. 4 in the SEVIS Release 6.23 Planning Guide and the Changes to Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,” Fact Sheet.

For any questions about this release, please email your SEVIS technical inquiries to SEVISHelpDesk@ice.dhs.gov.
