Check Out the Updated Spring/Summer 2015 Conference Presentation
June 9, 2015
The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) recently presented at the NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo. If you were unable to attend, be sure to watch SEVP’s updated Spring/Summer 2015 Conference Presentation.
The presentation now includes:
- The effects of recent regulatory changes;
- The late June Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) release; and
- The newly launched SEVIS Help Hub.
In Chapter 2, “Policy and Regulatory Updates,” learn how the U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently amended its regulations under SEVP to improve management of international student programs and increase opportunities for study by spouses and children of international students. In this chapter, learn how the rule affects SEVP-certified schools and the resources available to assist designated school officials (DSOs) with the new regulation.
Additionally, in the updated Chapter 5, “SEVIS Enhancements,” we discuss:
- The implementation of new SEVIS names, addresses and email standards;
- The new SEVIS downloads page;
- Updates to the redesigned Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,” and Form DS-2019, “Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J-1) Status"; and
- The new SEVIS Help Hub, which is a central location for DSOs to find SEVIS-related resources.
After you watch the presentation, please provide your feedback in the brief Stakeholder Satisfaction Survey. We will review your comments throughout the year and incorporate your thoughts into future presentations.
