Three Tips to Maximize SEVP Stakeholder Support
1. Before you call, check out Study in the States and SEVP's page on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website. Study in the States offers many free resources for stakeholders. We suggest you start by using the Ask a Question tool, or visit our blog for insights on the most commonly discussed SEVP-related issues for schools and students.
2. Have all necessary information on hand when you call the SRC. Callers can anticipate that an SEVP representative will ask you for the following information:
- Your first and last name;
- If you are a student or a designated school official;
- The school name or SEVIS ID in question; and
- Whether or not the student in question is located inside or outside of the United States, if applicable.
3. Remember to listen to all menu options when calling the SRC before making your selection. Selecting the right option ensures you are placed in the correct queue and directed to the appropriate representative to address your question.
