Learn about SEVP’s Policy and Regulatory Updates
April 10, 2015
Have you watched the Student and Exchange Visitor Program’s (SEVP) latest conference presentation? The new presentation is organized by chapters, so you can either select the specific topics you would like to learn about or watch the entire presentation.
Start by watching the introduction chapter that discusses what to expect within the presentation and general information about SEVP. Select additional chapters on the page to view the remaining videos.
For example, chapter two focuses on regulatory and policy updates and here you will learn about anticipated regulatory amendments to improve the management of international student programs, and increased opportunities for spouses and children of international students to study in the United States. This includes allowing SEVP-certified schools to have greater flexibility to determine the number of designated school officials to nominate.
The chapter also highlights the important difference between SEVP draft guidance and official agency policy. The presentation then provides insight on the stakeholder feedback SEVP received on previously published draft guidance on Study in the States.
Stay tuned for future blog posts about each of the Spring/Summer 2015 Conference Presentation chapters. When you finish watching the presentation, please take the brief Stakeholder Satisfaction Survey. Your feedback is helpful for us to continue offering you the most useful information at in-person and online events and conferences.
