Join U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) for a stakeholder teleconference on Oct. 18, 2017, from 2 to 3 p.m. EDT. During this session, representatives from USCIS and SSA will review the revised Form I-765, “Application for Employment Authorization,” and provide an overview of the process of obtaining a Social Security number (SSN).
As of Oct. 2, 2017, Form I-765 applicants have the option to apply for an SSN at the same time they apply for employment authorization or for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). SSA estimates this will reduce visits to its offices by almost 400,000 annually.
To register for the event, please follow these steps:
- Visit USCIS’ registration page.
- Enter your email address and select “Submit.”
- Select “Subscriber Preferences.”
- Select the “Event Registration” tab.
