SEVIS Modernization (June 2015 ― June 2016)
The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) regards SEVIS enhancements and system improvements as an ongoing effort. SEVIS releases from June 2015 through June 2016 improved user experience and directly responded to stakeholder feedback, including the ability to address input errors, the ability to export SEVIS data to a spreadsheet and improved system speed.
SEVP welcomes the academic community’s continued feedback and is committed to providing stakeholders with information on SEVIS enhancements before, during and after each system release. Study in the States’ SEVIS Help Hub is updated on an ongoing basis with SEVIS release resources, SEVIS demonstrations and SEVIS webinar information.
Additionally, SEVP is poised to begin a formal effort called SEVIS Modernization in which the entire system will be redesigned over time. This work will be incremental and is in the planning stage.
As part of SEVIS Release 6.21, SEVP added the ability to reprint forms for multiple nonimmigrants, improved the search functionality for SEVIS name fields and added the SEVIS downloads page, with the ability to export limited reports containing SEVIS data in Excel or CSV format.
SEVP deployed improved search speed on exchange visitor and dependent searches as part of SEVIS Release 6.22.
SEVIS Release 6.23 included enhanced student event history and employment information pages.
SEVIS Release 6.27 added the ability to do mass registration in SEVIS real- time interface, export up to 1,000 records at a time from the Student/Exchange Visitor Lists and Alerts into Excel, CSV, PDF, etc. The release also streamlined workflows for the issuance of F, M, and J certificates of eligibility and included system validations of data entered in critical fields.
