Hear from SEVP at the 2017 EducationUSA Forum

July 28, 2017

From July 31 to Aug. 2, EducationUSA will host the 2017 EducationUSA Forum in Washington, D.C.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) will participate in two sessions during the EducationUSA Forum:

  • “Using Student Mobility Data and Research to Help Develop a Strategy for International Enrollment,” on July 31 at 10:45 a.m. EDT.
  • “Regulatory Updates on Student Visas and Travel Independence,” on Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. EDT.

During the July 31 session, SEVP presenters, along with panelists from EducationUSA and other organizations, will speak about Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) data, review the latest SEVIS by the Numbers report and show attendees the Mapping SEVIS by the Numbers tool on Study in the States.

The Aug. 1 session, which is a joint session with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, will include regulatory updates and discussion related to English as a Second Language programs, a year in review of the 24-month science, technology, engineering and mathematics optional practical training extension, and the latest information on nonimmigrant student visas.

The EducationUSA Forum, an annual event for U.S. higher education professionals at accredited colleges and universities, provides participants with practical skills and strategies for using EducationUSA resources to improve engagement with international students and ensure student success on campus. EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of more than 400 international student advising centers in more than 170 countries around the world.
