SEVP Spotlight Introduces New Field Representatives

June 28, 2017

The June 2017 edition of the SEVP Spotlight highlights recent personnel changes at the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).

This edition introduces the two newest SEVP field representatives, John Mark Jones, who supports designated school officials (DSOs) at SEVP-certified schools in Virginia and West Virginia, and Ronald McPeak, who supports DSOs at schools in the San Jose, California, area.

The two field representatives have a combined 34 years of professional experience in higher education and international student affairs. In the SEVP Spotlight, they each share how they became SEVP field representatives, their goals for their new roles and their advice for DSOs preparing for a school visit with a field representative.

In addition, this edition of the SEVP Spotlight provides information about U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary John F. Kelly’s higher education roundtable event. The April 2017 meeting brought Secretary Kelly and other members of DHS leadership together with leaders in higher education to discuss DHS priorities and explore opportunities for partnership between the department and the academic community.

Download the June 2017 edition of the SEVP Spotlight for these and other program updates and reminders from SEVP.
