DSOs: Form I-20 Resource Page Now Available on Study in the States
Designated school officials (DSOs) can learn about the Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,” on Study in the States’ new Form I-20 resource page.
DSOs and the Form I-20 is a resource to help DSOs make sure they input the correct information on their F and M students’ Form I-20. It can be found on the Schools page under the “Report Changes in SEVIS” section. The resource page provides basic reminders about the Form I-20. Topics on the page include:
- When students need the Form I-20 and when DSOs should issue it.
- What it means when DSOs and F and M students sign the Form I-20.
- When it is acceptable to print out and reissue a new Form I-20 to students.
- Information about the redesigned Form I-20.
There is also information about additional Form I-20 resources, including the What is the Form I-20? page for F and M international students.
As a reminder, DSOs with case-specific questions about the Form I-20 should contact the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) Response Center.
