SEVP Will Participate in Six Sessions at the NAFSA 2017 Annual Conference & Expo

May 16, 2017

From May 28 to June 2, NAFSA: Association of International Educators will host the NAFSA 2017 Annual Conference & Expo. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) will take part in six sessions:

  • The first session will discuss news related to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) as well as updates about SEVIS enhancements.
  • The second session will discuss SEVP regulations, policies and processes.
  • The third session will be an open meeting between NAFSA stakeholders and SEVP leadership. During the interactive discussion, participants will focus on topics relevant to SEVP and the international education community. SEVP will also share its progress on the feedback received last year that is documented in the Trends and Improvements section on Study in the States.
  • The fourth session will be an intragovernmental panel with the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection regarding F and M visas, and the government agencies involved in the F and M international student process.
  • The fifth session will cover trends affecting primary and secondary schools from the SEVP perspective.
  • The last session will be an open meeting with EnglishUSA. The discussions during this session will cover topics regarding intensive English programs.
