Study in the States Launches the School Appeals Status Tracker
On Feb. 28, 2017, Study in the States launched the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) School Appeal Status Tracker. This online tool allows SEVP-certified schools in the appeals process to proactively and securely check the status of their case.
Once SEVP receives a school’s appeal, the individual who filed the appeal will receive an email from the Administrative Appeals Team notifying them that the appeal process has begun. The school will also receive a unique tracking number associated with their case and a link to the School Appeal Status Tracker.
Schools can then input their tracking number to check the status of their case, including where their case is in the process and the estimated length for that step. Within the School Appeal Status Tracker, users can also access other information concerning the appeals process including an overview of the entire process, time frames for all steps and contact information for further assistance. SEVP school appeals data will be updated regularly, so users will always have the most up-to-date information.
A link to the School Appeal Status Tracker can be found on the Schools page on Study in the States and users can view the full-view SEVP School Appeals Process in the Study in the States Resource Library.
