SRC Phone System Upgrade Planned for Feb. 3–7

January 24, 2017

Beginning Feb. 3, 2017, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) Response Center (SRC) will start its transition to an upgraded phone system. The upgrade process is expected to last through Feb. 7, 2017.

SEVP is not anticipating issues with the transition to the upgraded system. However, if an outage occurs unexpectedly, DSOs and international students who have questions should contact the SRC via email at sevp@ice.dhs.gov or visit Study in the States for more information. DSOs can also contact their territory’s SEVP field representative if they have questions. SEVP will communicate with stakeholders as soon as possible if an outage does occur.  The SRC thanks designated school officials (DSOs) and international students in advance for their patience in the event of any unplanned system outages.

Once the SRC’s upgraded phone system is in place, it will improve connectivity during calls. In the future, the system will also include new, enhanced features that will offer more communication options for stakeholders.

As a reminder, the SRC answers general SEVP questions, case-specific questions and Student and Exchange Visitor Information System technical questions.

You can find more information about the SRC, including hours of operation, and additional SEVP contact information on Study in the States.
