DSOs: K-12 FAQs Are Now Available on Study in the States

September 15, 2016

Kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) school officials or administrators can now download a frequently asked questions (FAQ) guide about K-12 SEVP-certified schools and the K-12 international student life cycle.

This free resource, found on the Study in the States Webinars page under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) Ask the Experts Webinar: K-12 Spotlight tab, lists 10 questions and answers within the following topic categories:

  • Student and Exchange Visitor Information System reporting requirements.
  • Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Status.”
  • Student travel.
  • Student transfers.
  • Policy.

The K-12 FAQ can help designated school officials make sure their schools are in line with SEVP regulations when managing their F student program at their school.  It will be expanded further in the weeks to come.

To search for a specific topic within the document, first download and save it to your computer. Then:

  1. Press the Control (CTRL/Command) key followed by the F key on your keyboard. A text box will appear on the top of the screen/documents.
  2. Type your preferred keyword(s) in the textbox and press “Enter” on your keyboard.
  3. Use the arrow buttons in the search text box to automatically jump to the keyword references within the document.
