If You See Something, Say Something

July 14, 2016

Whether you are an international student or a school official, we encourage you to learn more about the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) “If You See Something, Say Something™” campaign.

The campaign reminds community members, “if you see something you know shouldn't be there — or someone's behavior that doesn't seem quite right — say something.” By paying attention to what’s going on around you, you play a vital role in keeping your campus community safe.

If you do observe abnormal activity in your campus community, report it to your local law enforcement agency or campus police.

When reporting suspicious activity to your local law enforcement agency, make sure you describe what you observed in detail, including:

  • Who or what you saw.
  • When you saw it.
  • Where it occurred.
  • Why it is suspicious.

Remember, informed and alert communities keep the United States safe. As a member of the academic community in this country, you play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of campuses across the country.
