SEVP Will Participate in Four Sessions at the NAFSA 2016 Annual Conference & Expo
From May 29 to June 1, NAFSA: Association of International Educators will host its annual conference. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) will be there to join the conversation and lead four breakout sessions:
- The first session will be a joint panel with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs. The panel will discuss topics affecting Intensive English Programs and visas.
- The second session will be an open meeting between NAFSA stakeholders and SEVP leadership. During this session, participants will discuss trends affecting the international education community. SEVP will also share its progress on the feedback received last year that is documented in the Stakeholders Issues Response Report.
- The third session will cover program news and updates, and will include an in-depth look at SEVP policy guidance and regulation.
- The fourth and final session will focus on current and upcoming Student and Exchange Visitor Information System enhancements.
SEVP Director Lou Farrell will participate in all four sessions, as will other federal subject matter experts who are knowledgeable of the session topics. For more detailed information about SEVP’s participation, visit the NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo website.
Many federal departments and agencies, including several bureaus from the U.S. Department of State, will also participate in the weeklong event. Visit EducationUSA’s new NAFSA 2016 Annual Conference & Expo page for more information about how the Department of State’s bureaus will participate.
