Stay Informed: Visit ICE.GOV to Read SEVIS Broadcast Messages
Did you miss Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) Director Lou Farrell’s latest Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) broadcast message about how the program’s School Certification Unit continues to work toward reducing processing times on Form I-17, "Petition for Approval of School for Attendance by Nonimmigrant Student," updates?
You can now find this announcement and other SEVIS broadcast messages on SEVP’s What’s New page on ICE.gov. The new broadcast message tab holds all SEVIS broadcast messages distributed since January 1, 2016. The broadcast messages are organized by distribution month and identified by their title.
The information included in broadcast messages ranges from important SEVIS-related functionality information and outages to compliance-related program updates. Through the broadcast message system, SEVP also communicates changes in the call center’s operating hours and the release of new publications.
It’s important for designated school officials (DSOs) to read and understand the broadcast messages they receive. The new repository makes it easier for DSOs to reference past messages that may no longer be saved in their email inbox or be available on the SEVIS message board.
Do you have a question or comment about a previous broadcast message available on ICE.gov? Let us know by sending an email to SEVP@ice.dhs.gov with “Broadcast Message” and its corresponding number (found in the top left-hand corner of the broadcast message) in the email’s subject line.
