Celebrate Women’s History Month with Study in the States!
Throughout the month of March, the United States celebrates Women’s History Month. Today, we highlight the more than 500,000 female F and M students currently enrolled at Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified institutions.
Where do most female international students come from?
Over one third of all female international students in the United States come from China. A majority of female students also come from India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.
What do they study?
About 20 percent of female international students study business, management, marketing or similar subjects, while nearly 44,000 female international students study engineering.
Other popular areas of study among female international students include computer and information sciences and visual and performing arts.
Where do they study?
F and M female students choose to study at SEVP-certified institutions across the country, but nearly 19 percent attend schools in the state of California. SEVP-certified institutions in New York, Texas, Massachusetts and Florida also attract large numbers of international female students.
