What is International Education Week?
International Education Week celebrates the benefits of cultural and academic exchange programs around the world. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education promotes how international education programs:
- Prepare Americans for a global environment.
- Invite the world’s future leaders to exchange ideas and experiences in the United States.
Today, the celebration kicks off with the release of the Open Doors Report, and continues with festivals and events in more than 100 countries. You can continue to build support for cultural exchanges around the world by joining the International Education Week conversation on social media and follow the hashtag #IEW2015.
Throughout the week, we will continue to promote International Education Week on our blog, Twitter and Facebook page. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program will also join the festivities by participating in EducationUSA’s International Students Day Virtual Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Following the SEVP presentation, we invite prospective students to join us on Twitter to #AskSEVP questions about how to #StudyintheStates.
Check back in tomorrow for more details about SEVP and the International Students Day Virtual Fair.
