SEVIS Users: Fix for Recent System Issues
July 16, 2015
The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) deployed a Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) emergency release (6.21.1) on Wednesday, July 15 to address technical issues that resulted from SEVIS Release 6.21.
This week’s SEVIS Emergency Release 6.21.1 included the following system solutions:
- Improved system performance and response time on the Student and Dependent Search page;
- Easy access to the new SEVIS Downloads page;
- Sites of activity for J-1 visa interns, student interns and trainees will display;
- The Listing of Schools page will display all SEVP-certified campuses and schools;
- M-1 extension requests and requested end dates will print on the Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status;” and
- SEVIS will generate a separator page between student and dependent Forms I-20, allowing school officials to print double-sided forms.
The initial SEVIS Release 6.21, which deployed on June 26, 2015, was the largest system upgrade in recent years and included many enhancements to both improve user experience and better ensure SEVIS data accuracy. This week’s subsequent deployment aims to fix the minimal technical issues that have been identified. As always, we greatly appreciate your patience and feedback in getting these problems resolved.
