Meet America during Your Next School Break

February 27, 2015
As our Spring Break 2015 blog series comes to a close, we wonder how you will spend your next school break?

Your primary focus should be to complete your program of study successfully and maintain your student status. However, most U.S. colleges and universities give students a break between academic terms. These breaks are typically longer than spring break and give you an opportunity to participate in meaningful activities.

As an international student enrolled at a U.S. college or university, you may be eligible to apply to one of the many Meet America programs. Meet America is hosted by Global Ties U.S., an official partner of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitors Leadership Program. Meet America can help you “jumpstart your career, expand your professional network, and explore American life and culture.”

Each year, Meet America offers week-long programs in exciting cities across the United States to help international students prepare for the global job market. In 2015, Meet America will host seven different programs in U.S. cities including Detroit, Boston and Atlanta.

Visit the Meet America website to learn more about the application process, scholarship opportunities and answers to frequently asked questions. Many of the summer applications are due in April and May, and spaces fill up fast. Prepare your application today and share this opportunity with your friends on Facebook and Twitter using #SpringBreak2015!
