Oct. 24, SEVIS 6.18 Pre-Release Webinar

October 24, 2014
Join the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and the U.S. Department of State for a webinar discussing principal designated school official, designated school official (DSO), responsible officer (RO) and alternate responsible officer verification. This verification is in response to the Federal Information Security Management Act that requires any user who has access to a government system to be reviewed and validated annually. This feature is contained in the upcoming SEVIS 6.18 release. The verification period will begin on Dec. 2, 2014. The webinar will take place on Friday, Oct. 24, from 2–3:30 p.m. EDT.

Webinar topics include:

  • Overview of the validation initiative
  • Key facts and dates
  • Step-by-step ways to validate DSOs and ROs
  • Common errors
  • Messaging
  • Frequently asked questions

Please note that SEVP has changed the way individuals can access webinars. All participants must now create a webinar account beforehand. You will need a username and password to log in to the webinar this Friday, as well as for future webinars. If you have yet to create an account, visit the Stakeholder Webinars page and select “Register Now.” You will be taken to a new page where you need to input information for your account. Use the Webinar Registration Job Aid on the webinars page to learn more.

The webinar room will open on Friday at 1:45 p.m. EDT, 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Visit the webinars page to access this session. Access to this webinar is limited to 2,700 accounts, so please try to watch with others in your organization.
