One Year of Questions from Designated School Officials
Last month, our Questions from Designated School Officials (DSOs) blog series passed the one-year anniversary. We launched Questions from DSOs to answer questions from you, the DSO community, and to help you advise your students throughout the F and M student process.
Over the past year, 17 blog posts have addressed your questions related to your role as a DSO. These are the three most popular posts:
- Which countries’ citizens do not need to apply for an F or M visa to study at a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified school?
- May DSOs send scanned copies of the Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,” to students via e-mail?
- When does withdrawing from a class become a violation of F or M student status?
We will continue to provide information and answer your questions. If you are a DSO and would like to submit a question, e-mail us at sevpcommunications@ice.dhs.gov with the subject line, “Questions from DSOs.” Please do not submit questions that reflect scenarios specific only to your school. If you have school-specific questions, you can contact the SEVP Response Center at sevp@ice.dhs.gov or call (703) 603-3400 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. ET, except holidays.
