According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, the British Council's Education Intelligence global research service released a new report predicting that the number of international students who study in the United States will increase at a faster rate than the number of students who study in other countries. The report, titled “The Future of the World's Mobile Students to 2024,” researched what factors are bringing students to study in the United States.

Currently, most F and M students enrolled in U.S. schools are from China and India. The report’s predictions show that by 2024, 3.9 million students will study outside of their home country, and 66 percent of these students will come from those same two countries. In fact, estimates show that over the next 10 years, the number of Chinese students enrolled in international programs will rise to 855,000, a slight increase of 132,000. This report predicts a rise in F and M students from countries including Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Nigeria and Turkey.
