As the world becomes increasingly connected, educators can take part in collaboration and learning online. As a part of a larger Connected Educator’s initiative, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Educational Technology has announced that October is Connected Educators Month. The purpose is to help educators across the United States better understand the benefits of participating in various online communities – they can learn from peers, build networks and take advantage of new tools.

Do you know how you can connect with Study in the States to learn more about topics like the F and M student process or Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certification? Here are a few of the resources we offer:

• Every month we post new Questions from Designated School Officials (DSOs) blog posts where we answer questions from actual DSOs.
• When opportunities are available, you can comment on SEVP's draft guidance policies that may affect you. You also can comment on our current draft guidance on vacation policy, temporary absence and timely filing until November 16, 2013. Visit our page to sign up for e-mail updates whenever SEVP releases draft guidance.
• If you are attending an international education conference this fall, check out our conference materials for SEVP’s conference presentation and an executive summary. You also can fill out our stakeholder satisfaction survey to give feedback on these materials.
• Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates on information about our site and news related to the F and M student process.
