Get Fast Information from FEMA in an Emergency

October 17, 2013

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) understands that you need relevant information quickly when you are experiencing an emergency. You need to know what you need to do and where you need to go. According to the White House blog, FEMA has been working hard to launch a variety of new tools to help you “prepare for, respond to and recover from disaster.”

  • Download the FEMA app for “disaster safety tips, an interactive emergency kit list, emergency meeting location information, and a map with open shelters and open FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers.” The app also has a new option for each user to report on disasters in their area by submitting original photos.
  • Visit FEMA’s social hub for real-time conversations from social media sites that focus on current situations, from weather events to disaster recovery efforts.
  • Visit the newly created U.S. Fire Administration Facebook page for information on how to help your local fire department.
