The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) launched the Study in the States initiative to enhance our nation’s economic, scientific and technological competitiveness by finding new ways to encourage the most talented F and M students to study and learn about expanded post-graduate opportunities in the United States. The website provides helpful information, tools and other resources for current and prospective F and M students, as well as school officials.

I want to study in the United States. Where do I start?

Review the Study Guide to the States, our interactive guide that provides an overview of the F and M student process. You can also watch Student to Student: Studying in the States, a video that tells you what to expect and how to stay compliant with Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) rules and regulations while you are a student. You can also find information on our Students portal.

What information does Study in the States have for current students?
