Degree Requirements in the United States

May 20, 2013

F and M students are eligible to apply and enroll in various academic programs at Student and Exchange Visitor Program-certified schools in the United States. If you are interested in post-secondary education  in the United States, you should know your degree options usually have certain requirements that you must meet. Be sure to research the requirements at your chosen school. Here are some common requirements for application:

  • Vocational program – a high school diploma or the equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree program – a high school diploma or the equivalent
  • Master’s degree program – a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
  • Doctorate program – a master’s degree

If you have questions about enrolling in a private school from grades kindergarten through 12 or in a public high school (grades nine through 12), contact school officials for specific enrollment requirements.

Be sure to look at each school’s application requirements before you apply. You should make sure you have completed the other necessary qualifications. If you have any questions, contact your nearest EducationUSA advising center or the designated school official at the school you may want to attend.
