Opportunities Available for International MBA Graduates

February 5, 2013

According to Bloomberg Businessweek, many international students who graduate with a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) successfully find work in the United States. According to a 2012 survey, all F students at five responding business schools accepted employment offers within three months of graduation. The 20 other responding schools reported at least a 73 percent placement rate of their F student graduates.

An F student may be eligible to remain in the United States by participating in post-completion optional practical training (OPT). Afterward, an F student who wants to keep working in the United States must have a company apply to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on the student’s behalf for a change to H-1B status. OPT must relate to the student’s specific major or program of study.

If you are interested in working in the United States during your program of study or in applying for OPT, talk to your designated school official for more information. If you are interested in learning more about graduate studies, read more on our recent blog post.
