Haitian Nationals: USCIS has Extended Deadline for Temporary Protected Status Re-registration Period

January 10, 2013

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that the re-registration period for Haitian nationals who have and would like to maintain temporary protected status (TPS) for an additional 18 months now extends through January 29, 2013. USCIS extended the re-registration period from the initial extension period because of Hurricane Sandy.

USCIS recommends that eligible Haitian nationals apply for TPS as soon as possible. Additional TPS information and application materials are available on the USCIS website.

For more information on the extension, please visit the Federal Register notice.
