Flight Training Community: Final Guidance on FAA Certification is Available

December 12, 2012

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) asked for stakeholder comment on draft policy guidance on certain requirements for flight schools to receive SEVP-certification. Specifically, the draft guidance requires that flight schools have Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 141 or 142 certification. SEVP has released the final guidance on this issue.

This policy guidance is for SEVP adjudicators. It discusses SEVP’s requirements for flight training providers, specifically involving FAA certification. We are providing this guidance to the public to provide transparency into how our adjudicators make decisions on SEVP-certification for flight schools.

You can read the final guidance on the SEVP website.

SEVP provides opportunities for stakeholders to comment on draft policy guidance on our SEVP Guidance for Comment page. You can also use that page to sign up for email alerts when we post new draft guidance.
