Possible Visa Delays in the United Kingdom Due to the 2012 Olympic Games

May 9, 2012

The U.S. Embassy in the United Kingdom will be experiencing a very busy summer due to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Embassy officials advise that nonimmigrant visa services will be limited from July through August 2012. If you need to apply for a visa to enter the United States, contact the embassy as soon as possible. Officials can issue visas as early as 120 days before report date.

According to the U.S. Embassy website, the calendar for visa appointments is currently open through the end of June. The embassy call center is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. GMT and on Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. GMT.
