March 8, 2012

According to Chicago Tribune News, “At least 776 colleges offered some amount of financial aid to undergraduate international students for the 2010-2011 school year.” The article ranked the top 10 schools that offered the “most generous average aid packages to undergraduate international students.” The schools on this list are all private liberal arts colleges that ‘focus on undergraduate education and grant at least half of all degrees in liberal arts majors, such as English, humanities, and philosophy.” Nine of the schools are in the northeastern United States.

The top 10 schools are:

1. Yale University
2. Wesleyan University
3. Skidmore College
4. Amherst College
5. Trinity College
6. Gettysburg College
7. University of Chicago
8. Williams College
9. Vassar College
10. Colby College

In the United States, financial aid varies by institution. Financial aid is not guaranteed at or limited to the schools listed above.
