International Education Week: Virtual College Fair

November 10, 2011

Prospective students around the globe will have the opportunity to learn more about U.S. colleges and universities through the inaugural EducationUSA Virtual College Fair in conjunction with International Education Week, on November 15 and 17, 2011.

EducationUSA is a network of approximately 400 advising centers in 170 countries that is supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  EducationUSA Advising Centers offer accurate, unbiased, comprehensive, objective and timely information about educational institutions in the United States and guidance to qualified individuals on how best to access those opportunities.

EducationUSA will host the fair on the EdUSA Connects virtual webinar environment. Each participating institution will present information in interactive sessions that will last for approximately 25 minutes.  Prospective students will be able to ask school representatives live questions, and the presentations will be recorded and made available for future viewing.

On Tuesday, November 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST, fair hours will be available for students in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East & Western Hemisphere.  On Thursday, November 17 from 9:00 p.m., to 2:00 a.m. EST, fair hours will be available for students in South & Central Asia and East Asia & the Pacific.
