Increase in International Student Enrollment

November 3, 2011

The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) reported a significant increase of international students entering its freshman class this academic year. The university saw a 250 percent increase in international freshman enrollment and the dean of international education at UCSD believes “the Study in the States website is a good indication of how much better a job the United States [government] is doing of talking about…higher educational programs for international students.”

UCSD is not the only school with a larger population in international students this year, as other universities across the country are experiencing increases as well
