Efforts to Increase Indonesian Students at U.S. Colleges

October 28, 2011

At last week’s Indonesian International Education Foundation’s 2011 U.S. Higher Education Fair, U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia, Scot Marciel “highlighted the U.S. Embassy’s commitment to increase the number of Indonesian students studying in the United States.” Ambassador Marciel announced “the launch of a credit facility that will provide $5 million to support student loans for Indonesian students over the next 20 years, including those interested in studying in America.”

The Ambassador stated that the program “highlights the U.S. government’s commitment to increase education opportunities for Indonesians by making available much-needed credit to finance university studies, including in the United States.”
