New Students: Get Started with these Resources

May 2, 2019

When coming to the United States to study for the first time, there are many things to remember. As you prepare, check out these resources for more information:

  • Consult the Getting to the United States resource page for information on what documents you need to bring with you, what to expect at a U.S. port of entry and what to do when you arrive at your new school.
  • Create your own Guide to Studying in the States for information that applies to your specific education level and visa type. Once you create your guide, you can also print it out for future reference.
  • Follow Study in the States on Twitter and Facebook! Don’t miss tips and resources to help you navigate the international student process or updates from the Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

Good luck as you begin to plan for your studies! For case specific questions, please contact the SEVP Response Center.
