Using Western Union Quick Pay to Submit Your I-901 SEVIS Fee? Read This First.
All prospective F and M international students must pay the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Fee before they apply for a U.S. student visa and enter the United States. Among other payment options, students can use Western Union to pay the fee.
The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) upgraded its Western Union Quick Pay process to make it more convenient for students. F and M student applicants choosing to pay their I-901 SEVIS Fee by Western Union Quick Pay must complete the Form I-901 on the website www.FMJFee.com prior to visiting the Western Union location.
This update allows for the real-time posting of Western Union payments, which means students can now immediately print their I-901 SEVIS Fee Payment Confirmation without a wait.
At this time, students from Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Kenya and Cameroon are only able to pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee through money order, check and Western Union Quick Pay. Specifically, this new update saves time for those students who select the quick pay option when completing the transaction at a Western Union location. After completing the transaction, the I-901 SEVIS Fee Confirmation is immediately available to print. The printed I-901 SEVIS Fee Confirmation is your fee payment receipt and should be kept with you to present at your student visa appointment and as you enter the United States.
SEVP continually reviews payment methods for the I-901 SEVIS Fee and appreciates feedback about the payment process. SEVP understands the need for the I-901 SEVIS Fee payment to be as accessible as possible, which is why the program upgraded its Western Union Quick Pay process.
